He found a small storefront on Raleigh Street, fired up the ovens, and began baking the breads and pastries his family had perfected over generations.
Word spread quickly. The aroma of fresh-baked gata, the perfect crunch of lahmajun, the soft pull of a warm choreg — neighbors, then their friends, then food lovers from all over Los Angeles began making the trip to that little bakery on Raleigh Street.
Today, Sam's Armenian Bakery remains a cornerstone of the Glendale community. The recipes have not changed. The ingredients are still the finest we can find. And every morning, the ovens light up to carry forward a tradition that means everything to us.
